TTP leader Hakeemullah Mehsuds death reports confirmed

areview.co.cc: Finally, Taliban have confirmed the death of TTP leader Hakeemullah Mehsud today,Dunya Newws reported. According to sources, Hakeemullah succumbed to his injuries near Multan.The late TTP supremo was being taken to Karachi from South Waziristan for treatment, when near Multan his condition got worsened and he died.Hakeemullah was injured in a drone attack on Shaktoi, North Waziristan on January 14.Around 10 other people were killed in the above said attack.Initially, Taliban spokesman Azam Tariq denied the killing of his leader, terming it governments propaganda; and added that Hakeemullah was alive and well.However, many sources confirmed that Hakeemullah received severe injuries behind his ear in the drone strafe. Taliban should surrender: ANP Referring to Hakeemullahs death, ANP Spokesman Zahid Khan, while talking to Dunay News said that the TTP leader has died long ago.He urged the Taliban to lay down arms and stop targeting the innocent people, and initiate talks with the government.

areview.co.cc: Lahore High Court has allowed Dr Qadeer Khan to meet his friends and family members and issued a notice to the federal government on an application submitted by Dr Qadeer in the above said case. Justice Ijaz Chaudhry heard the case.Dr Qadeers counsel Ali Zafar argued that even the atomic energy scientists were not allowed to meet with the atomic Dr AQ Khan, which was against the accord with the government.Justice Ijaz Chaudhry has said that under the deal, Dr AQ could not be stopped form consulting his physician, adding that he should be allowed to meet with his friends and family members. The court has also summoned the Deputy Attorney General on February 19 to present before the court after consulting the federal government in this regard.

areview.co.cc: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry deplored that the government would keep on pursuing the pick and choose policy in promotions of the civil servants, if the courts did not interfere. A three-member Supreme Court bench comprising Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Ijaz Chaudhry heard the case regarding the promotion of deputy post master general.During the hearing, the CJ remarked that anyone could defend himself if he has been exploited by his department, adding that a department deprived one of its official of grade-20 promotion on a pretext that his behavior with his subordinates was not good.The CJ warned the government that it would be termed as governments dishonest, if the rules and regulation were not respected vis–vis promotions.The apex court has also ordered promotion of the concerned deputy post master general to grade-20 with an immediate effect.

The grim milestone was passed when a soldier from the 36 Engineer Regiment, part of the counter-IED Task Force, was killed by an explosion in Nad-e-Ali, Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said. It followed the deaths of two soldiers killed by a Taliban bomb in lawless Helmand Province. Their deaths brought the British toll to level that of the Falklands War. Their deaths came as a strike-force of 15,000 coalition troops – including 4,000 from the UK – braced themselves to launch the biggest offensive of the nine-year conflict within days. A total of 255 British servicemen and women have now died since the conflict in Afghanistan began in October 2001 – the same number as died in the 74-day campaign to retake the Falkland Islands in 1982.

According to Finance Ministry, the government was under immense pressure as the conditions set for the installment by the IMF has not been met completely. The government has also failed to achieve the target of tax imposition and restrain in the power tariff to Rs55billion. The IMF has asked Pakistan to restrict the budget deficit to 4.9 percent against the Gross Domestic Products (GDP), however, according to the Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin the target was 5.3%.So far, Pakistan has taken an amount of $6.40billion out of the stand by programme.

Thus, Sarah Palin used her hand as part of the job she was hired to do for the Tea Party Movement. The finding, noted in several blogs, took the Internet by storm on Monday. Sarah Palin wrote the words Energy, Tax and Lift American Spirits in that order in her left hand’s palm. It was Palin’s palm-up pose that allowed the photo capture of what she scribbled. All this from a person, Sarah Palin, who criticized President Obama for using a teleprompter, yet did so in the same Tea Party speech where she was using her left hand’s crib notes, and also used one at the Republican National Convention.
